Scorpions Blog # 1
What internal conflict does Jamal experience in chapters 1-5 that you can relate to? Explicate how you are able to relate. Remember to respond to at least two of your peers.
I can relate for people bugging him at school.I am able to relate to this because last year when I came to school crying ,people ask me what's wrong with me .. Then they bug me
Jamal faces man vs. self,because in chapter three he didn't want to be late for school,but he got off track and was late anyway.I am able to relate to it because once my friend was talking to me and I told them to be quiet,so I can finish my work.I ended up talking to someone else myself,and not finishing.
I am able to relate to Jamal getting bullied at school because in first grade people would always blame thing on me. In the story Jamal experiences a Man vs. Supernatural conflict. I can relate to that because when I heard that my uncle died in a car accident I would sometimes get mad at god.
I agree with kiara and kiana. But I can mostly relate to him being bullied.i can relate to this because I used to get bullied all of the time.so I also agree with m cameron
Jamal faces man vs. self,because in chapter three he didn't want to be late for school,but he was late anyway because he got off track .I am able to relate to it because one time my friend asked me for help and I said no because I would get in trouble but I eventually started helping him and I got in trouble for talking.
Jamal faces man vs.man people bugging him at school. i can relate because at one point in the fifth grade people would always bother me about how i would talk and what i would wear.
Denzell Brown said this Jamal was going through External Conflict. That was Man vs. Man. He was having problems with a boy named Dwayne. Dwayne was always messing with him. One day Jamal and Dwayne got into a fight. Jamal was also going through Man vs. Fate. He was trying to decide if he was going to join a gang called the Scorpions. He was thinking of it because his brother was in it to. He was trying to decide if that was his fate to join in that gang also and follow in his brother's footsteps. He was also dealing with Man vs. self because he struggling in his mind if he should do this or not. He was also dealing with Man vs. Nature because he was trying to survive the year to not have to put up with Dwayne's taunting for the rest of the year.
Remember to read the question carefully and respond by using correct sentence structure. You must focus on the "external conflict". I will deduct points for not correctly responding to the questions and grammatical errors!
I can relate to Jamal because sometimes my parents have to work late too. I agree with Camron Scott because Jamal did have to suffer the pain of having a relative in jail. I also agree with Denzell Brown because Jamal did go through the conflict Man vs. Man in his fight with Dwayne.
I think Jamal faces man vs man because Dwayne always bothers him. Also he is afraid of Mack and the scorpions them selves. Jamal has many fears and that is why I think Jamal had man vs man conflicts
I agree with Mariyah because sometimes I’m late for class and so was Jamal. I also agree with Kiana because I have a younger sister and sometimes I have to watch her and Jamal has to do the same.

Jamal had a man to self conflict. He did because he had to wait on his sister sassy. He didn't want to be late for school. I can relate to this because one time I asked my dad to get me to school early but instead I was late
I agree with Kiana because my mom and my auntie had trouble planning my uncle’s funeral and Jamal’s mom has to come up with 500 dollars to bail Randy out of jail. I also agree with Kiara. People bug me at school and Jamal also gets bugged at school.
Jamal had a man to man conflict with snookie because his music was to loud. I would feel the same way if someone played music too loud and I'm trying to work
I can relate to kiara because people bug me and keep bugging me and I agree with mariyah too because im trying to get my work done and people start bugging me.
The internal conflict Jamal is going through is a man vs. Self.I think that because he don't really try his very best in school.I think he don't really try his best because when they give him some work to do ,he think that it's too hard to solve without trying his best to do it .
mine is man vs. man or in this case mom vs. daughter in chapter 2 when sassy said to her mom you let me wear this blouse this today me and my mom are like that because when she tells that I can do something then I do it then my mom says don't do that. WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT(thinking in my head).
Jamal faces man vs. self because he was trying his best to not be late for school but ended up being late anyway. I can relate because when I get distracted I don't finish what I'm trying to do in time.
I can relate to Jamal because he is facing man vs. self. He tries to be on time for school, but he always get distracted. When I am doing something that i'm suppose to turn in on a time limit, I get distracted and sometimes don't complete it, and only get a little percentage of the whole grade.
Jamal faces Man vs. Man because Dwayne kept messing with and cracking on Jamal.I can relate to this because in 2nd grade, there was a kid bullying me and cracking on me.
Man vs. self because in his mind he didn't know whether or not to join the scorpions gang or not.I can relate to this because I was pressured into riding a scary ride at six flags.
I can relate to watching younger siblings becauce , I have a younger brother who I watch after school.Since I am the oldest I have to be responsible for making sure I have done my home-work and , I help him with his homework.It's not easy watching afterm my brother though, it's like a MANvs.MAN conflict becauce he don't like to listen to me becace I'm not (grown).Other than that he usually goes outdoors to play with his friends while I just hang-out.This relates to Jamal becace he has a little sister who he watches (Sassy) who is totally living up to her name.There is a lot of arguing between Jamal and Sassy which makes this problem a MANvs.MAN conflict.

Jamal has been faced with a hard decision to help his brother or to do what is right which is staying away from the scorpions. I can relate to this because there has been times were I have been faced with decisions to do what is right or to do what is wrong and to face the consequences.
Kyla Hall I agree with you becace mom did tell Sassy she could wear the blouse but, sometimes mom was so tired she did't know what she said , and at the end of that confrontation I read that Sassy gave mom a little confused look !!!!!!?????
The internal conflict in chapters 1-5 is man vs self.I'll have to agree with Kiara because people do bug me sometimes and I'm going to disagree with Jeremy because he gave an external conflict instead of an internal conflict.
Jamal's internal conflict was man vs self. He is having a battle in his mind trying to figure out if he should join the scorpions gang. This relates to me because I have to make a lot of hard decisions about life. As I get older peer pressure increases. Things like should I try a drug or should like steal something when I'm with my friends comes up most of the time. I believe doing the right thing is better than getting in trouble.

When I was in the fifth grade I had a man vs. self conflict. I had to either choose to talk to my old friends or my new friends. It was a hard decision because I did not want to hurt my friends feelings.
The internal conflict that jammal has had is do he want to join the gang ,and i can relate to Ikei because my mom has to work late.Also when storms get in,and when my mom is at work i think about because i think somethng will happen to here

Jamal's brother needed $2,000 to pay for his appeal to get out of jail. Jamal was thinking about becoming a part of 'Scorpions' to get the money to help Randy get out of jail. He also thought about getting a job at A&P and just saving up money. I can relate because if I had a brother or sister who was in trouble I would try to do what I could to help them. Even if it meant breaking some rules and getting in some trouble.
Denzell the reason he was thinking about joining the gang is because he was trying to find a way to get money for his brother Randy to help him get out of jail.
I can relate to when it’s Jamal vs. society, because sometimes I feel like there are a lot of people against me, in some cases. I don't know why, but I just feel so left out.
Jamal faced a man vs: man conflict. He was being bullied. Dwayne and Jamal did not like each other. Jamal found himself always trying to ignore the mean things Dwayne was saying. Jamal would try to say mean things back but, people would only laugh at Dwayne. I can relate to the situation because I've been bullied. I was younger than the person that bullied me so it made it easy for him. I used to say things back but they would only laugh at him and say I was lame. I cried until I couldn't cry anymore. Then I learned how to ignore him. He would get mad because it is hard to talk about someone who doesn't care anymore.
Jamal faces man vs. m because he get picked on about his sneakers by a boy named Dwayne. It relates because I have been picked on a lot just for nothing, but some people did it just to put me down.
Jamal faces man vs. self, because in chapter 3 he had to make a choice on weather he should talk to Mack or not. I relate to this because I have to make choices in life and think on how it effects me. Also he faces man vs. man when he is being bullied by Dwayne. I can relate to this because I was bullied in the second grade.
I disagree and agree with Mariyah because he was also late because he was waiting on his sister, but another conflict was man vs. man between Jamal and Dwayne.
The man vs. man that I can relate to is when Jamal was getting bullied by Dwayne. I was bullied before. I was bullied verbally. The person usd to say mean and hurtful things. Finally I got tired of it. I started being a snitch an he didn't like that. When nobody was round I ignored him. But I always used to stay around my friends. He always used to try to to get me aone, but I wasn't allowing that to happen. Jamal and I can relate together because we were both bullied.

i think it is man vs. self because jamal cant decide if he wants to be in the scorpions gang or not.i can relate to this because sometimes when i do things i shouldnt do i think for a moment to see if i should do it or not.but in the end i dont do it because i know the consequences
Jamal faces man vs. Self in chapter five when mack tells him his brother said he should be the head of the scorpions .Jamal had to make a decision on whether or not he wanted to be the head of the scorpions.
I can relate when people can get on your last nerves so instead of just fighting them I ignore them. So basically....I can relate to Jamal at this point in chapter 4.
Jamal is going through Man vs. Man conflict and Man vs. Self. Dwayne is always bullying Jamal and fighting with him. I can relate because I've been bullied before. Also, he's trying to see if he wants to join Scorpions. I can relate because someone wanted me to do something that was wrong as well.
One internal conflict is man vs. self because Jamal decides whether or not to go see Mack. Another conflict is Man vs. Technology because of the TV and how it was ok, but Jamal was going to get a job and buy a VCR or recording machine. One example of external conflict is Man vs. man because Jamal has to struggle with his sister Sassy and how she was going to tell their mama he was being nasty to her. I can relate to my internal conflict because I sometimes have to decide whether to go over my cousin Marisa house because she is always messing with me.
Jamal faces the challenge of trying to figure out if he should be like his brother or not. His mama tells him that he shouldn't be hanging around with any of his bigger bro in jail,Randy's friends. Randy says Jamal should go see one of the Scorpions,Mack. This creates more confusion about whether or not Jamal should be like his bro.
Scorpions Chapter 1-5 Internal Conflict - I think that it relates to me because Jamal and I have been yelled at. We`ve both had our difficulties. We`ve made many mistakes, and we`ve both came through, and we learned from them.
Jamal faces the conflict man vs. mam. When Dwayne wanted to fight Jamal did and no Dwayne has a problem with Jamal. I can relate to this because I seen people fight and end up not liking each other anymore.
I CAN RELATE TO HIM STRUGGLING TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. I USED TO ALWAYS BE IN THAT SITUATION.MY MOM WAS ALWAYS BULLIED SO SHE WAS TRYING SEE IF SHE SHOULD BRING A GUN.MY DAD WAS IN GANG AND THINKING TO SEE IF HE SHOULD STAY
Jamal is in a man vs. self situation in chapters 1-5 because Jamal didn't want to be late for school again ,but he got stopped by one of his friends at school and got caught by the principal. I can relate to Jamal's situation because many times in elementary school I used to be late to class because one of my friends wanted to either stop me and talk about something unimportant or just stop me to get me in trouble.

Jamal faces man vs. m because he get picked on about his sneakers by a boy named Dwayne. It relates because I have been picked on a lot just for nothing, but some people did it just to put me down.

Jamal faces man vs. self, because in chapter 3 he had to make a choice on weather he should talk to Mack or not. I relate to this because I have to make choices in life and think on how it effects me. Also he faces man vs. man when he is being bullied by Dwayne. I can relate to this because I was bullied in the second grade.
I disagree and agree with Mariyah because he was also late because he was waiting on his sister, but another conflict was man vs. man between Jamal and Dwayne.

The man vs. man that I can relate to is when Jamal was getting bullied by Dwayne. I was bullied before. I was bullied verbally. The person usd to say mean and hurtful things. Finally I got tired of it. I started being a snitch an he didn't like that. When nobody was round I ignored him. But I always used to stay around my friends. He always used to try to to get me aone, but I wasn't allowing that to happen. Jamal and I can relate together because we were both bullied.

Jamal faces man vs. self becuase in chapter five he doesn't know wether or not to join the gang scorpians. I can relate becuase sometimes I dont konw what I wwant to do either.

I can relate when people can get on your last nerves so instead of just fighting them I ignore them. So basically....I can relate to Jamal at this point in chapter 4.
Jamal is going through Man vs. Man conflict and Man vs. Self. Dwayne is always bullying Jamal and fighting with him. I can relate because I've been bullied before. Also, he's trying to see if he wants to join Scorpions. I can relate because someone wanted me to do something that was wrong as well.

One internal conflict is man vs. self because Jamal decides whether or not to go see Mack. Another conflict is Man vs. Technology because of the TV and how it was ok, but Jamal was going to get a job and buy a VCR or recording machine. One example of external conflict is Man vs. man because Jamal has to struggle with his sister Sassy and how she was going to tell their mama he was being nasty to her. I can relate to my internal conflict because I sometimes have to decide whether to go over my cousin Marisa house because she is always messing with me.

Jamal faces the challenge of trying to figure out if he should be like his brother or not. His mama tells him that he shouldn't be hanging around with any of his bigger bro in jail,Randy's friends. Randy says Jamal should go see one of the Scorpions,Mack. This creates more confusion about whether or not Jamal should be like his bro.

Scorpions Chapter 1-5 Internal Conflict - I think that it relates to me because Jamal and I have been yelled at. We`ve both had our difficulties. We`ve made many mistakes, and we`ve both came through, and we learned from them.

Jamal and I have once failed to complete an assignment. We didn't understand so we let it be. Daily we make mistakes ,but we also learn from them.
I agree with Joshua Lynum. This is a conflict where Jamal has to make a decision who to hang with.

Jamal faces the conflict man vs. mam. When Dwayne wanted to fight Jamal did and no Dwayne has a problem with Jamal. I can relate to this because I seen people fight and end up not liking each other anymore.

Jamal is in a man vs. self situation in chapters 1-5 because Jamal didn't want to be late for school again ,but he got stopped by one of his friends at school and got caught by the principal. I can relate to Jamal's situation because many times in elementary school I used to be late to class because one of my friends wanted to either stop me and talk about something unimportant or just stop me to get me in trouble.
I agree with Damiesha because Jamal does come up against a lot of situations like man vs. man, man vs. self , and man vs. society.

Jamal's internal conflict is he does not want to join a gang, but he struggles with joining if it will help his brother Randy.
He also struggles with staying on task in the classroom.
Jamal also struggles with understading his peers and trying not to pick with others. Jamal is related to me because I am the same way.
